Friends

Tonight I met with my friend, Tammy for dinner. We have known each other since we were in high school, been through everything life has dealt us, husbands, kids, jobs, etc... We have been meeting at a local Mall after work, to talk, have dinner, talk some more, shop and talk even more, for a while now. I can't tell you how much fun this time is. All I can say is if we are lucky in life we have someone like Tammy, someone who helps you through the bad times, laughs with you in the good ones, who is always on your side no matter what and who will tell you the truth even when you don't want to hear it, but need to.

Here is a picture of us, not that good. Another of my holding out the camera to get myself in the picture. Maybe I will have the waitress take one next time.

Anyway Tammy, thanks for putting up with me and being my friend.

Ethnic Enrichment Festival

Well that is what they officially call it "The Ethnic Enrichment Festival", but we call it the International FOOD Festival. It is a fun place to go to try different types of food that you don't normally get to try (well at least that I don't get to try). I am not always so adventuresome where food is concerned. You pay $3.00 to get in then there are food and drink booths from different countries selling food and drinks.

We walked around for a little while then just bought something here and there. We shared what we bought between the four of us, because each thing was pretty small we sometimes only got a bite or two. But that meant we were able to try several different foods and drinks.

Andy even gave the girls some money and told them to go find something interesting and bring it back so we could share it. Unfortunately way too soon we all agreed that it was getting way too hot and wanted to go home. But it was fun while it lasted.

Travel Bug

Yes that's right I have the travel bug again. While I was cleaning out my favorites folder this morning I found this website.

Well I couldn't resist this, since one of my life goals is to visit (or at least step foot in every U.S. state) It even allows you to generate the HTML code and cut and paste it on your blog. So now that I have a blog, I had to try this.

And it works! I noticed it didn't show here, but on the website it told me I had visited 36 states, and am 70% complete. Wow!

This has gotten me in the mood to scrapbook some of those travels. so I am off to scrapbook our trip to London, later.

A New Lap Top For Me , Part 2

Ok the new lap top has been yelled at, cursed at, avoided, and HATED. This transition has not been an easy one. But I am not giving up I just have been busy, and not been able to give it my total attention. Life has been busy here and when I have the time to do mess with transferring files and installing programs I am too tired to trust myself to do it correctly, so I am giving myself a break and trying not to add stress over something that is supposed to be fun.

So I am off to the couch to watch a couple episodes of "The Gates" an ABC show that I can't figure out for sure if I like or not but I keep watching it.

I did accomplish this over the weekend, I potted these herbs for my kitchen window sill.

Liberty Memorial and World War I Museum

We took Amanda to the World War Museum today. I really kind of enjoyed myself. Andy and I have two completely different museum styles, he wants to stop and read EVERYTHING, I want to look only reading if it interests me, just wanting to be an observer, finishing much quicker than he does. Amanda is very much interested in this period of history so I figured I would end up waiting around for both of them. But that was not the case. The weather was unseasonably nice, so we walked around the impressive memorial. Towards the wall at the back of the memorial you can get an impressive view of downtown, that I enjoyed taking some pictures of.

Looking down you can get a nice view of Union Station and Downtown.

Inside was pretty much what you would expect at a War museum:

I did find the clothing displays to be interesting.

And I actually enjoyed looking at the posters.

So all in all not a bad way to spend an afternoon. I would recommend it to anyone.

A New Lap Top for Me

Faster and more memory. Now I can update my Photoshop Elements from 3 to 8 (I know I can't believe I waited so long, then I just read that 9 is getting ready to release, such is life in the computer world, I figure I will be in shock skipping over 5 versions anyway, no reason to wait any longer) But we can't forget the most important more memory, so I can keep doing what I love best..... take more pictures. Alright!

Grilled Vegetables

I got out early (well 10 was early for me) Saturday morning and headed to the farmer's market to get these vegetables. Then I cut them up and marinated them in Italian Salad Dressing, Andy grilled them, and

they turned in to this amazing dinner! One of my favorite things about summer.
